What cows have you been around? All the cows I see form up in a group with their faces together and their butts outward so as to protect themselves from the rain. Maybe Texas cows are just smarter than other cows . . .
But since they are individual symbols, and since I have done something to straighten the neck of that long-necked one, you should be able to arrange then any way you like.
A great many over the course of a lifetime. It's a common saying in England that the cows lie down when it's going to rain, though that's almost certainly an apocryphal belief; hence its use in a mildly humorous aside 😁
A ditch at city scale is relatively easy because you only need to worry about the general appearance of the thing rather than adding too much detail.
Would something like this do?
That's a fractal polygon of the darkest grass shade drawn on top of the field with those three effects employed to give the illusion that it is sunken into the field. That's a dark glow set to outer, a pale shadow of the same extent, and an edge fade inner that is twice the width of the other two. You could use the same effect in any city map. I will find a way to leave it in the example map for you.
I've made it drain into the marsh and put mud in it instead of grass, so it makes sense in the map now
The map that most requires a ditch is a village where a castle is being constructed. The ditch is the foundation ditch that has been dug for the curtain wall around the castle. Both examples look awesome. So much better than all my attempts.
I am still very disgruntled on missing out on fire-breathing turkeys (though I do know a place where there is a whole nation of them) Happy Thanksgiving
Well that's easy, Quenten. Since turkeys are too small to be more than a dot at city scale, all you need to do is draw a dot in turkey colour, and then put flames coming out of it :)
Ok. We have all the animals I've got time to do this time around - cows, bulls, horses and sheep.
With only a few days left before handover, I can do a couple more things now. I'm tempted to go for ruined versions of a keep, the bridge and maybe a tower if I can get it done.
I thought about dragons earlier when I was doing the burning trees. Not sure why my mind went off in that direction, but it did.
With only 2 days to go before handover I think they might have to be some kind of additional set because they take ages to draw.
I ruined the bridge today as well as burning the forest down, and I've done a burnt rubble texture to cover the floor of recently burnt out ruins. I've yet to ruin a keep...

Hope you remembered the large army and the siege engines 😉🏹
And there you have it, the idea for the next Sue style (or more like the latest to be added to the queue), "Castle Under Siege", a hybrid city/dungeon scale style with siege engines, castle walls in various states of repair mounted and foot soldiers, burning building, dead things (people and animals)

Thank you dagorhir.
I hope it has what you need :)

Not many :)

If anything is missing, I'll scavenge it from other styles like City of Schley. Mostly I need to figure out of to make a decent ditch.

It's only the sheet effects, so you should be able to do the same on any city style map.
It is nice to see we will finally have a style where you can have fire breathing cows.
Indeed. And bulls, so representing the adventures of the Argonauts beckons. Theoi.com link for the uncertain or confused 😊 🔥🐂

Need for a bull noted, Wyvern! LOL!

Well of course there's always a wyvern (or a dragon if you must) if you're keen for something MORE to do!🐲
Yea, wouldn't mind seeing both Wyverns and Dragons. Perfect for a city-scale map :)

Man, you're on a rampage today....
Sounds very much like a dragon's been right through the symbols already - ruins, fires... 🐉
They're just too darn fast, Wyvern!
What about that giant Fire turkey. I can see me using a CSUAC turkey and Sue's fires to lay waste to all and sundry.
Dungeon scale, Quenten ;)
GIANT firebreathing turkey. Like King Kong.
Why turkeys, Quenten?
thanksgiving and xmas
Oh I see!
Revenge of the poultry, then?
Unfortunately, I have chosen to spend my last day and a half on this style (for now) attempting to ruin the largest two keeps in a convincing fashion.
For inspiration, see Food of the Gods by HG Wells. Giant poultry - not firebreathing though.
LOL!
Next time, maybe :)

That's actually a really cool idea, Remy...
