Hi!
I started a new map to use (hopefully) with the 5ed expansion Brancalonia (have a look if you don't know it and like the "spaghetti fantasy" style). It is the map of the rural area where I come from. 🙂
It is still far from being done. but, what are your impressions/suggestions? Thanks @Loopysue for the Darklands style (which I am maybe misusing on a quite small map 😓).

I love it :)
Might need a few place names, but nothing too 'shouty' or it will overpower the map.
Thanks @Loopysue!
Yes, places names is the next step... Together with a bit more trees: forests are needed! ☺️
I might also reduce that glow on the border. In smaller maps its barely there, but in this map its become a huge shadow over everything. It was originally intended to make the ribbon look like it was on top of the parchment - to give you an idea of how small it might be.
Scattering of trees is on the money, I think.
amazing! congratz
I think I just finished refining a bit that map (one tree at a time, one day after the other 😅).
I quickly add some contrast and details with a picture-handling software.
All names are jokes made out of the real names.
If you happen to visit northern Italy, go there and taste some teroldego 🍾... Or climb the Brenta 😊... It is a nice area.
Did you add the text outside of CC3, or just tweak the contrast?
If you happen to visit northern Italy
Stayed in Lecco for a week a few years back. I think that qualifies as Northern Italy.....
Loved northern Italy.
Glad that someone else likes making names from jokes on real names. Just sad i can't work them out, as I don't speak Italian
And the map is gorgeous.
Hi @Raiko ! Thanks.
The text is added within CC3+. I then used the super light "FastStone" image viewer to add a bit of sharpness, contrast and saturation (suuper basic stuff).
Just in case someone will read this discussion and doesn't know it, the same effects can be obtained using the effects within CC3+:
The spatial matrix effect for the sharpness,
and the RGB matrix effect for the color stuff
Yes!
This is definitively northern Italy.
The place there (northern from Trento), however, is a bit more on the east. Above the Garda lake.
Thanks @Quenten!
The whole Brancalonia mapping setting is based on this: making jokes out of real names for cities and places... It is quite funny (if you know the language)
Yes. I make names out of Forum members, or political figures (USA and Australia - usually the ones I don't care for)
I did some minor refinements here:
