Hi Everyone! :D
This week, Ralf is resuming his journey through the first ever Cartographer's Annual (2007) by demonstrating the July issue - Cavern Maps.
You are very welcome to come along and see how its done, and to ask questions and make suggestions/requests.

Is Ralf going to do the Panicale City one? I hope so, because I have already made the 2D city for it, and I will need a bit of handholding to do the 3D one.
Ralf will do a tutorial video for that one when he has time. We decided it was too much to do a second Live Mapping session on exactly the same thing as before.
Great
A little something I whipped up this evening to work on after tomorrow's Live Mapping Session.
I don't know if Ralf is going to get quite that complicated in the space of just an hour, but we shall see.
30 minute call :)
Well that was fun - and managing to catch it live for once as well! And Ralf did get close to the complexity - actually rather more so, with the glowing floor hole - than @jmabbott's example map!
It was lovely to see you there, Wyvern, and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I've watched about 2/3 of the livestream. Very interesting and some great tips.
Re the map above; I've not put any contours in, which I will, once I've done that if I create a colour key drawing tool as @Ralf did and then select my cave walls and use the change-like drawing tool command, will that work?
I'm thinking this would make a good kobold warren...
I'm not entirely sure if the change like drawing tool will generate a whole new entity on the WALLS sheet all by itself. You may have to copy the color key shape to the WALLS sheet and then hide everything else and then use the change like drawing tool to change the color key shape to a wall. I suspect CC3 might need for there to be something to change before it changes it. But I might be wrong. Let me know if I am :)
Hi Sue, I didn't try it. I'll post an updated map in its own thread.
