Hello all! My name is Mateus Buffone. I am a brazilian from Rio de Janeiro but I live in Curitiba, in the south of Brazil, for more or less 10 years now. I am History and Philosophy teacher and I also work writting didatic materials for learning plataforms and Universities. Oh, and I am the president of an association that work with analogical games (RPGs, boardgames, Larp) and education: JOGARTA.
I am married and have one black, fat and one leg missing cat called Amelie.
This is a great thread and I've enjoyed seeing everyone's pictures and reading a bit about you.
I'm 63 years old and have been gaming since I first met my husband in 1981. I've talked about gaming and map making a lot here since that is what these forums are about but I've never talked about my other passion, being out in nature.
I am a volunteer Land Steward for both the state and county parks where I live, as well as for a Land Trust that buys and maintains green spaces in our city. Currently my duties involve monitoring for invasive plant species and tracking animal species that inhabit several of our parks. I also do trail cleanup after holidays that attract a lot of visitors and in the past I've done instructional tours for schools, though I enjoy exploring on my own much more.
I love the forests that surround me and so will share a few pictures of my favorite places. These are from four different parks/green spaces within 40 miles of my home. I've included one picture of me and a 200 year old Eastern Hemlock and also included a picture of my street during a snow storm just to let Remy know that he is not alone in hating snow.
Lots of lovely pictures there Shessar. But yea, that bottom one doesn't look like a particular nice situation. Better than being surrounded by sand, mind you, but still not good.
@Mateus: Cute cat. But she is missing one leg you say? What happened to her?
I've attached a picture of me and my cat that I took today.

Yes. She has only 3 legs. We adopted her already without 1 leg, right after the cirgury. She had just 2 months... poor kitty... The vet said that she probably was run over inside a traveling bag when abandoned...
@Mateus: Poor thing. It always gets me so upset hearing about animals being abandoned. At least she found a good home.
@Sue: Yep. He has thought me the real meaning of the word "keyboard shortcut". Walking across the keyboard is always the shortest distance between any two points in the room, no matter where it is located in the room, and therefor all walks should take the shortcut over the keyboard.
I don't really have any pictures of Tulsa, but I live in the middle of the city, so there's not much interesting to see here until you drive a ways. Also, I'm not really getting out much lately.
Here's me from a few months ago. I didn't realize I was having such a bad beard day that day. That's much scruffier than I normally am (and my goatee is probably 3 inches longer now) ;-)
Hi, my real name is Dominik Scharbach und I live in a small town near Bonn in Germany. Living here my whole live, since 1986. I have been studying to become a schoolteacher in physikcs and chemistry for about 13 yeras now and will hopfully complete that soo, but my focus for the last 10 years was more in remedial teaching of the sciences and mathematics so this is where I will most likely go instead of working at a school. I have been playing RPGs since my fist GameBoy came with a copy of Zelda: Links awakening, adding Pen and Paper RPGs when I was about 16 and doing fantasy Larp for a little more than 10 years now.
I started using CC3 when a friend of mine lent me the CD of the basic program. When CC3+ came out I decided that I wanted to have more than the basic funcions and have slowly been buying everything else, so I have the complete set by now.
Odd that all of you (except Ralf, and the ladies) are growing beards while in some sort of lockdown, while I am now clean shaven after many years with a beard.
Me, with my Schipperke dog, Ahab, with beard; then me shorn (the present)
We'll just keep imagining you as a big friendly bear
I like to see people's faces, but I respect that not everyone wants to post them. I never used to post mine either, it is more recently I've been doing that.
Lots of new people lately, so I am just bringing this topic back to the top, allowing new users to see who we are, and giving them a place to introduce themselves if they want....

That's a simply stunning place.
Does look a lot like you are being blown away there!

Edit: I am 34 years old!

Wow! Shessar, I'm green with envy!
Remy, is this the very beautiful but mischievous cat that walks over your keyboard in just the wrong way?

The metal post in the snow is my Hustler 5BTV ham radio antenna from 80 meters through 10 meters, those are ham radio bands I can use.
The smaller photos are so narrow because they were very long, over 2000 pixels.

No beard either, unless I forget to shave having been retired over 5 years.
I am also impressed how good google reverse image search have become. Here is the uncropped image.

I'm a grizzled old computer geek, not getting enough sunlight, over 70 years of age, white hair ( not bleached ). a sparse mustache.
