April Issue Inked Dungeons question. Map Guide shows wall shadows but drawing tool doesn't do it.

Hello all. Thanks to the CC crew for the April Issue Inked Dungeons. The Map Guide shows wall shadows by default but drawing tool doesn't do it. I checked the wall effects in the sheet and the shadow is checked. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help!

Check that the sheet effects are switched on generally at the top of the dialog.

If they are, then check the size of the effect by going in to edit it. It may be set too small or faint to see.

That may be it but the edit button does not bring up the properties box.

I am using CC3+ with Crossover on a Mac. There must be some compatibility issue. sigh...

I'm ever so sorry, but I haven't a clue about the way Mac installations work. Remy Monsen might be able to help, but I know he's seriously busy teaching from home and probably fast asleep by now.

Thanks, I decided to just nuke and pave the installs and start over. That seems to have fixed it.

Hi all, my WIP is still not showing Cave Wall shadows. In the map guide they appear with the rooms and corridors. Anyone have any ideas? Here is what I am looking at.

Which drawing tool are you using for them, and what sheet are they ending up on?

There was an error in the Cave Default drawing tool. It's fixed now in the installer for the Annual, but you can do it yourself without uninstalling:

- Right-Click the Cave drawing tool button
- click "Advanced >>" and choose the "Cave, Default" tool.
- Click the "Outline" button and then "Properties".
- Set the layer to WALLS and the sheet to WALLS*
- Clock OK twice and save the tool.

Note that does not fix the current drawing, but you can now simply redraw the caves and the shadow should be there.
