How to add CA155 to a mapping wizard ?

I realize I can load the template and work from there.

However, I want to add this to a mapping wizard, overland, so I can make a number of maps with a frame, the same color pallette, etc.

Or would it be easier to load the template, add my own frame, and save it as an edited ( different name ) template file ?

But I really would like to add it to the overland mapping wizard.

What is it that you want to get from the template, Jim?

It is only a very simple beast - a standard export from FT3 with lots of stuff cleaned out of it and a specialised palette and ready made altitude bar. That's all.

If you want to use the colour palette in other maps you can do that using PALSAVE and PALLOAD.

When I click on New map, then overland maps, pick a predefined template. I would like it to be in the selection list.

The wizard adds a frame for me. And it asks what size I want it to be.

Easier way I suppose would be to loadpal and use existing templates.

That would certainly be an easier option.

If you start a new map and load the palette then attach it to the map, you could save that map as a template in the Templates folder, so you don't have to do the PALLOAD thing each time.

That is sort of what I'm doing.

Years ago I came up with my own templates, blue/white maps, and got tired of starting from scratch. So I took one of those maps, took out the symbols and some others things, I don't remember exactly what I did, and saved it as a template file.

That is what I'm doing now.

Thanks for the help. I was using loadpal and getting nowhere. Palload works much better.

I think quite a few people get the PALLOAD command the wrong way around. I did it the first couple of times, and I know others who have.

Here is the smaller area map. What I'll do is remove the map itself, and the symbols, and save it as a template. I may change the frame. There is a tile bmp from years ago that might look better.

Okay ! Loaded the fct, just has the deepest water and the above frame on it, and the pallette is there to.

Whew. I'm all shook up. Well, I'm not Elvis, but I did accomplish something.

Hi Jim - I have done that with a city, overland and dungeon/building template, with all the fills and drawing tools I like. It makes life a lot easier. If I want to use a particular style, i open up that style, the import (then delete) my generic template.
