png files not there

I've got a few new png files in a catalogue (actually a folder - not a .fsc file) but CC3+ isn't showing them.

I *am* in the correct location for the files.

I've restarted the computer twice.

I cannot think of anything else to do. Please help.

If you have more than one drive (perhaps a backup drive or a memory stick), are you asking CC3 to look in the correct drive?

I once hit rock bottom despair when I thought I'd lost absolutely everything I've ever created - until I realised I was actually asking it to find them on the wrong drive. The folder system was identical.
  • I thought I'd told Win10 to CopyTo the right folder -- it hadn't, I've yet to work out where it sent it to, but that's for another day. Thanks for reasuring me I'm not the only daft one sound, Loopysue!

Well, loopy was one of my nicknames as a kid ;)

The other one was Mouse, but I think these days now I've mellowed out a lot and am not such a nervous little creature, and despite Mouse being my favourite nickname, loopy is probably more accurate :P

Load that map, and do a Ctrl-A. That will show you the folder the files are being saved to.

Go to the folder you saved it in (not in CC3 in your operating system) and you will find it. Click on it and hit rename and you will see that there is no .png after the file name. Add that and it should come up. Working for me but it took me a while.

CC3/CC3+ adds the file type if you leave it off. In the 'save as' menu selection in the save dialog, you can select file type. The software adds the .filetype to the end of the filename. So if you select bmp, it wil lsave as filename.bmp, etc.
