The grid will be able to be toggled on and off (along with the roofs) when it gets to the atlas, just a few more very minor changes (in the legend), and i will put the final version up here with a link to a larger picture for everyone. Glad you like it. I certainly learned a lot, and the advice I received was very helpful, so thanks everyone who commented.
only a couple of tiddles: what is the smear in the center of the roof? and I see one apple tree not trees, and the legend numbers seem to be in a diiferent font than the number locations on the map especially the 1s.
It is the same font now, called Bridgnorth. Thanks for picking that up, Jerry.. The smear is a flagpole, and there are 2 apple trees - one in the corner near the house, the other near the drying shed. I have added some table and wall torches, though most light comes from chandeliers (obviously not shown), at least in the areas not related to the servants. I have also changed the hedge and fixed the tree shadows.

I am aware of the atlas, but i was a bit concernad that it would't be easy to find.
