Corridors no longer joining
I just finished the DD3 Essentials tutorial and started my first map. Somewhere in there, corridors stopped attaching to rooms correctly. I know it worked yesterday when I started the tutorial. Are there any options or registry settings I may have screwed up to cause this? I had some custom menus and filters set up, but I didn't touch the originals,* and removing my customizations didn't help. Even reinstalling Patch 7 and loading the tutorial files isn't helping.
Worst case, I can just reinstall again, but it would be nice to know what went wrong.
* I used the Vista virtual store directory to override the files in Program Files.

I don't know whether this is related, but I've been seeing another DD-related glitch: If I just install CC3 and DD3, there's no toolbar button for DD3, and the add-ons menu only shows CC3. Even loading a DD3 map leaves the CC3 menu onscreen. The only way I've found to get the menu is to start it manually with the MENU command, and even then I don't get the DD3 button on the file toolbar. However, if I install CD3, then all three add-ons seem to work.
With all the installation problems I've been having, I'm wondering whether there's some problem with my downloads. Is there any way to check integrity, like MD5s or SHAs? I suppose I could also check my mailbox for the disc.
As for the corridor problems, you may wish to try contacting ProFantasy Tech Support directly, since it seems like no-one here knows the answer.
Are you sure you are actually drawing corridors btw? When I was testing this right now, I accidentally used the wall button instead of the corridor button (it looks like a corridor to me), and the behavior is exactly as you describe here. And even if you are not clicking the wrong button, maybe the button executes the wrong command. Try starting a corridor by typing CORRIDORM at the command prompt (must not be in the middle of another command). This will launch the command tool regardless of what the button does.
Pretty sure it was the right command: The Wall tool has an L-shaped icon, whereas the Corridor tool is a hallway with branches, yes? Also, it opens the corridor dialog and puts [CORRIDOR] on the command line. But I'll double-check the next time I test it, just in case.
I was planning to contact Tech Support after I try one more troubleshooting step. I checked the FAQ and saw its recommendation to install from an admin account with run-as-admin permissions. I was doing the latter but not the former. I don't think it should make a difference, but might as well follow the directions as closely as possible to eliminate user error.
Update: No luck. Off to tech support I go. Thanks for the help.
I am getting so frustrated with this. It's so damn hard to select things in CC3 or DD3. They should look at Microsoft Streets and Trips. When you click a pushpin that is close to another one you get a small dialog box that allows you to select from a list the pushpin (item/entity) that you truly want. This would make life about 50 times easier in CC3 and DD3.
I don't know it could be me. It doesn't seem like I can select things easily. I am about 2 minutes from going to something like Dunjinni or something else. It's great to have tons of power but when the only map I have produced (because I get frustrated) is the one that I did with the Tutorial making Pirate Island, then I think it's time to give up on the product. I could have made many maps over the years but because I can't get it right in CC3 or DD3 I give up.
