Thanks Shessar! As I said before... I am amazed (pleasantly so) by how much everyone is enjoying this. I like it, but then I'm the one that's doing it!
You know how sometimes you can create something, and you like what you've done, but you are the only one? I thought this would be something like that. I admit I didn't expect the enthusiasm that this experiment is receiving. Don't get me wrong... I love that everyone likes it as much as I do! I'm just surprised by it, that's all
This map has actually progressed quite a bit since my last update. I have my mixed forests in, I spruced up the border, and started adding my wildlife. At this point, the map is almost complete. All I have to do now, is add the few settlements that are here, add compass and scale, a few odd bits by way of reefs, rocks, that sort of thing, and of course, my labels.
I decided I didn't want to clutter up this map... since it's an experiment in color, I want the the color aspect to be the most important thing. To that end, this map is complete, and I'm calling it a success. There are still aspects that maybe could be better, or different, I could have gone with even lighter hues for my color tints, for example, but I have accomplished my goal with this experiment. I will continue to play with this technique, but for now, I hope you enjoy this map, and I hope to see others try this technique too!
I will try to get a pdf tutorial to put in the resources, but it may not be until after the holidays.
