Strange Behavior With Erase and Extract Properties Commands
I've run into an odd problem, and I'm uncertain about how to fix it.
When I select Erase, I do not get a prompt to select an entity like I used to. Instead, I get a prompt to select a Layer. Then, once a layer is selected, the ENTIRE LAYER, rather than a single selected item, is erased. I have no idea how or why this changed.
Similarly, the Extract Properties command doesn't seem to work at all. No matter how far I zoom in, I can't select an entity.
Any idea what might be happening here?

It sounds like your selection method might be off. This is probably because a macro crashed or was aborted midway.
Either type SELBYD and press Enter to enter it on the command line, or select Tools>Options from the menu bar, and then in the Options dialog, click Select Method and choose Dialog or Popup.
I hope that helps,
