Symbol color is off - how to correct.

When I upgraded to CC3 from CC2, my symbol color seemed to be strange. I don't have a custom palette, but as you can see in the attached image, the colors are just wrong.

This looks just like you've loaded a varicolor symbol catalog. Set a different color (through the color box at the top of the screen) and see whether the symbols change their color.
