CC3 User Manual

When I try to download the CC3 User Manual from the page where i download the software from the profantasy website, I get the "Page cannot be found" error from internt explorer. Is this a known problem? Am I doing something wrong?

Working perfectly for me, both from the order page and my registration page.

Try logging in to your registration page and get it from there instead. You might also want to clear your cache and also try another browser.

  • I desperately need a user manual for CC3 but can't seem to find anything when I search. I'd love to have a pdf download. I'm coming back from a long hiatus and I'm trying to get this stuff in my head as quickly as possible.

Been working on a map for a con I'm organizing but now my hand hurts and it's late.

    Hi bloodymage,

If you registered your product on ProFantasy's website, you can easily download your documentation.

To download documentation for a registered ProFantasy product:
    1. Select Service>Login & Register from the menu on the ProFantasy home page.

      Your Registration page displays.

    2. Click the Products & Downloads tab.

A list of all your registered products displays. In the downloads column, there is a down-arrow icon, followed by a number in parentheses, for each product with downloadable files. The number in parentheses is the number of different downloads related to the product in that row.

    3. Click the download arrow for your Campaign Cartographer product.

A "pop-up" screen displays links for the related files that are available for download.

    4. Click a link to download it.

For CC2 Pro and CC3, there are links for PDF user manuals and for Essentials guides. Both types of document are very valuable.

    I hope that helps,

Got the user's manuals, now need to work on a proper install...

Incidentally, though I run a few websites, run n online business and help in another, I'm pretty well lost if an app doesn't have an .exe function (brain went blank for the proper term). Ok, back to studying...
  • Damned complicated programs. The way I learn, I just can't start in the middle, not as intellectually nimble as I once was. Staring over with a fresh install. I'm sure I'll be back frequently.
  • If you want to know how to use CC3 well and you want to find an answer quickly anytime that you need one, by all means buy Remy Monsen's excellent "Tome of Ultimate Mapping." It costs only US$ 10.95 and should be a "must have" on everyone's list. Go to:

    http://www.profantasy.com/products/tome.asp
  • It's listed for $19.95. Not sure I can afford the extra $10 right now.
  • Well, I had a map, a city map I intend on using at a convention, plenty of time 'til it's needed. After the reinstall, the map opened with a lot of the fill color in my buildings offset. When I would zoom, it was quite obvious that the area of the misplaced fill wouldn't fit within the map extents.
  • OK, technology rears its ugly head again. Paid for Tome of Ultimate Mapping three times and now I can't find the download. Sigh...

I think I've had one of those days (weeks, months, decades) myself.

The Tome download should be on the Registration page that I mentioned earlier (Select Service>Login & Register from the menu on the ProFantasy home page). You also should have received e-mail with a link to take you there.

Once you install the Tome, Windows creates a link to the PDF in the Programs menu (up through Win 7 — I have no earthly idea what happens with Win 8, and I hope I never do).

Incidentally, your city map looked fine to me. Below is a PNG export of the autosave.fcw you attached above.

Quite like the map. Has an old school feeling to it.
  • It looks good as a PNG but the FCW is jacked up. So save it as a PNG and I'm good to go?
  • And Henrie61, thanks for the praise.
