Mercator was the reason I bought the first Annual. It taught me a lot about how to use (then - and still, of course) CC3, because it uses features like multiple sheets for the symbols, and has those wonderful centre-faded-out land area colour options, not to mention using the Trace command for the coastal edges of land zones. I could go on, but won't...
I was using image map links on my Traveller site because it is going to be huge, then I realized I should do the same for Crestar. I still have navigation menus though.
Like Shessar, my world of Myirandios is based on Mercator style (loosely) and it too is an interactive atlas. I will post these when I am happy with the end result. I am doing the regional maps in Mike Schley style, which I like a lot.
The Annual Vol 6 (2012) is now available for CC3+ on the registration page. You'll need to install the latest update for CC3+ first (CC3+ Update 10), which is also new. Enjoy, and let me know if you encounter any problems. Thanks to Dogtag for doing the heavy lifting on the updating process!
Dogtag noted:D'oh! Have you been waiting for HW? It was folded into the CC3+ installation a while ago, back with Update 4, no Annual required!
Actually, I hadn't been, but had forgotten this. I started a map some time ago using HW on CC3 (not CC3+) that I still haven't finished, mostly because I intended to use other Annual features that still aren't on CC3+. Mind you, at this rate, they probably will be before I finish it...
I like all the annuals. Each one adds to my toolbox. Then again, I rarely use a single style when building a map. I am particularly interested in the annual that has the ship building tools. ;-)

I'm still at the stage wherein I try to stick within a style, to learn how it's best used. I'm too much of a tyro to go mixing.
On the other hand, the relatively fewer symbols in the latest black and white style tempt me to try symbols from the other B&W offerings...
Posted By: CharlesWayneRobinsonI prefer the transparent set (Black only) vs the black and white symbols... Far more useful. I used them extensively on my parchment map.
Posted By: JMunsonIIIf you create a sheet that has a Blend Mode of Multiply, you can use the black & white symbols... White is invisible to the Multiply effect...
That's what I love about this place: Someone has a handy tip for almost anything.

There are so many wonderful styles in the annuals that it is difficult at times deciding which to use for a map.

Barliman, I will have to look it up again and get back with you.
