Trouble installing Dungeon Designer 3

Hi all
I've tried to install Dungeon Designer 3, but the installer always keeps telling me the Drive size is -1, even though I have 35GB available(if it installs to same drive CC3+ is installed on, it doesn't say). Anyone know how to fix this? Any attempt to make it install ends up with it crashing.
Any idea if the installer flips out when installing to drives aboce 4TB?

Might be the drive size. Do you have another place you can install it to temporarily? If so, you should be able to follow these steps:

1. Move your CC3+ data directory (c:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus by default) to another drive
2. Edit c:\Program Files (x86)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus\@.ini to point to the new location (This is a plain text file)
3. Install DD3
4. Move the Data directory back to the original drive
5. Edit @.ini back to the original value.

Thanks for the tip, tried it, by moving it to a 4TB drive. No Dice, same result. Seems like Profantasy are adding some new "owners" to the installed files too. Weird, shouldn't be necessary.

Thats very strange.

Did you right click and install as admin ? You may have to temporarily turn off anti-virus and firewall on your computer.

No dice, same thing. Installer throws a 2343, then "cc3update10 was unable to install files. error code -11

CC3 is at Update 11, although that probably will make no difference in this case. My guess is that CC3 doesn't understand drives bigger than 2 GB. But it's a guess and nothing more.

Actually, it is, because by default regular users doesn't have write access to new folders in the common data area (ProgramData), so any program creating a folder here for everyone to use will need to change ownership/permissions for these files.

The Update 10 error message makes me wonder one thing though, do you have the correct version of the DD3 installer at all? You mention you have CC3+, but the latest update for that is Update 9, so DD3 for CC3+ should not be trying to install update 10. Also note that if you have been using the wrong installer, you may need to reinstall from scratch, as mixing CC3+ and CC3 components into the same directory has a rather undefined behaviour, and could lead to other errors.

I'm pretty certain the problems are not with CC as much as the installer. See picture below. I now tried installing to a 2TB HDD. Same result. No Drive has less than 25.3GB available

Well, that screenshot confirmed what I was asking above. You are using the wrong version of the DD3 installer if you are installing into CC3+.
(The -1 seems to be because it tries to find the space on the drive where CC3 is installed, and when it can't find CC3, it can't find any space either)

So I need both CC3 and CC3+ installed then? Isen't DD3 coming for CC3+?

Is there a map somewhere telling what requires what somewhere?

No, you need the DD3 for CC3+ installer, downloadable from your registration page. Basically, if you go to your download page, nearly every product there has two installers, one labeled as being for CC3, the other for CC3+

(Note that there are some things that still requires CC3, such as earlier annuals, and you can have both CC3 and CC3+ installed side by side, but all the major addons support CC3+)

Thanks for the tip. That did it. Decided to uninstall everything after all this testing and starting to reinstall all over again, just to get a better view of what is installed and what is not.

I know the feeling. You should probably just download something else while it is extracting.
