  • Thanks for the quick fix on this jslayton and Ralf. So far everything seems to run fine.

If it makes you feel any better Lorelei. The bug just GOT me! LOL.

I was fine - everything working perfectly, and just swinging along... but then I decided to draw myself a new symbol. As soon as I put it in the User folder CC3+ started to crash - repeatedly... and it didn't really matter which symbol I was trying to paste.

I'm about to try the Update no 8, in accordance with Mark's instructions.

As an update to that last comment - all is well now, following update 8, but if you have all the Vintyri, CSUAC and Bogie goodies on board already, you have to do as Vintyri (Mark) says, and back up your FCW32.mnu file first, then paste it back into the CC3 PLUS folder once you've done.
  • Hmmm... how many symbols do you have in the one folder on your desktop ? A Windows limit may have been reached.

Well for me that isn't an issue because the files work beautifully with my good old reliable and Annual filled CC3. I made a floorplan last night and used every symbol from that folder (so i can eventually open it with cc3+ and not have to worry about any red x's from cc3 symbols), and I did not have any problems. So that doesn't seem to be an issue, at least not for me. I just got home from a few hours at the surf and will try to run the update 8 fix in a bit. although the way things are going im not expecting much :/

But that's not the problem. Joe Slayton (Who's programming CC3+) already explained what the problem was.

If you follow Mark's instructions Lorelei everything should be fine. Mine was - and I started having the same problem as you were having just before I ran the update. It's all ok now :)

Ah, I didn't see his response. Memory errors are a pain.

    Especially as I age.

    I just posted this above:

With apologies to Joe Slayton, I've deleted the comments I had here about purported problems that I had on my laptop with Upgrade 8. It occurred to me just this morning that I had caused those problems myself, and Update 8 had nothing to do with them. After installing Update 7 on the laptop, I made some changes to check something during the late beta testing phase with Bogies Mapping Objects. I forgot to remove those objects afterward, and they caused the problems that I mentioned, not Update 8. Removing those objects also caused the laptop to return to normal speed.
