Does anyone have tutorials or guideslines for a galactic map?

I found a drawing of our galaxy. Loaded it into CC3, and designed my own spiral arms. Labelled them, and started using FT3 to make planet maps.

my Traveller site

My suggstion would be to go to Astronomy photo of the day site and use some of the galaxy photos as a guide. The photos got back to about 2005. They are smaller in the early year or so.

This site me be of interest. He goes into good detail on space mapping and even shows star maps from various sci fi tv series, books, rpgs, etc. to illustrate certain things.
