installing and not getting menus and/or error 75

When I installed CC3 into C:\Profantasy\CC3\ and repaired after removing it from C:\Program Files (x86)\, it worked fine.

After installing the Annual for 2007, still worked fine. But when I added the Annuals for 2008, 2009, and 2010, I got the FastCAD: Menu file not found and no menus.

I installed all of them by right clicking and selecting 'run as Admin'.

Running CC3MenuConfig as Admin didn't help.

Thanks.

I wont be able to check back until later today.

Try installing the latest update for CC3 first, then try the Annuals again.

    Okay. I'll try that.

Didn't work; however, I found around 20 entries in registry pointing to Program Files... so I deleted them, rebooted and Win 10 decided to install some updates.

Currently using my Asus tablet to access forums.

Didn't help. I also tried compatibility of WEin 7 and Win 8. No difference.

As I have time tonght I'll uninstall, put everything in Program files (x86) and put my maps in the folder I want them in, and see if that fixes it.

Well, I'm typing this using my tablet as my Win 10 computer did an update changing my search engine in firefox and blocked the install of any software. I can send and read email, read web pages and post to tghem, even download software. But not install anything. It goes to 'not responding'. Even with the firewall off. It even shut off the driver so my internet connection stopped working.

My warning was the screen saying something about improving my computing experience.

So, I'll just use my Vista computer as I know it works and can connect to the Internet. Now, to not turn my new 'Win 10 experience' computer into an aquarium.

    Ah, I just keep trying.

Its the User Access Controls and Windows SmartScreen settings that were blocking the installs of not just Profantasy software, but other programs I was trying to use.

CC3Plus now installs just fine. CC3 hangs after I accept the license and click Next. I've waited on it about 2 minutes. Likely another security setting. I'll redownload the setup program to double check that.

I looked around via web search. After skipping past the problems some folks are having with upgrading to Win 10, I found several mentions of people having issues installing some software under Windows 10.

One suggestion, from Hewlitt Packard, was to take Full Control of the folders and software for the person doing the installing. That didn't work for me installing CC3.

To check for compatibility issues, I tried, and was able to, install CC2Pro in the C:\Profantasy\ folder on my computer. So that isn't it.
  • I wish I could help you out JimP. Unfortunately, this seems like one of those times when contacting PF Support directly is the thing to do.

It looks like Windows 10 over the top security measures is the real problem... so I went back to using my Vista computer. Besides some other software updates, it works fine.

I could be wrong about Win 10, but when I made some adjustments to the computer's security, a number of other problems installing non-Profantasy software went away.
