Drawing text along an arc

Hi there,

I've searched the forum but can't find any topics on this subject. I'm working with CC3 and don't seem to be able to find an option for drawing text along an arc so that the text lies on the inside of the arc and doesn't sit on the outside. I want the letters pointing towards the focus of the circle, not pointing away.
Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance for any answers to my problem.

The way arc entities are represented internally in the software means that it can only have one direction, which again means that text along a curve always will point outwards. To get text pointing inwards, you need to convert it to a smooth path. First, use line to path on it, then use straight to smooth on the result, and you should end up with a smooth path looking like your original arc.
As a final step, you may need to mirror the guideline, because where the text appears depends on the direction of the line. Try adding text along the curve, but if it is still wrong, then use mirror copy to create a copy of the guidline and use that copy.
  • Thank you. That works wonderfully. :-)
