This is a work in progress for my world of Kelleemah using CC3+.
I hope I am doing this right; this is my first attempt at posting images on here.
Thanks

The Homelands of the Vagoth!
Yes, scaling can be a challenge.
The generic rule in the book for scaling did not work for me because I wanted the trees and other items to be more realistically scaled to the other terrain and this made them to large.
I used 0.12 for my buildings & 0.06 for my woods. I placed a village with trees in it and then placed and scaled my trees to match what was on the village image.
Mountains are scaled at 0.36 and hills vary from large foot hills at 0.24 and dropping all the way down in stages to small rises of 0.08.
It took a lot of trial and error and mixing of symbols.
It is particularly problematic when mixing symbols from different sets.
I have done this mainly with the buildings.
This is because I am putting my world map on CC3+ and I need buildings for various cultures and fantasy settings.
No one set has these and even then, it is hard to find them with the sets that are available.
I am eagerly waiting for the annuals to be updated so they are compatible with CC3+.
Even then, some symbols don't go well with those of other sets.
I am using a stand-in for the villages in Sutheimr for right now, the Vagoth are loosely based on the Viking culture and I have not seen buildings that are really suitable for them.
I have also not seen suitable symbols for Dwarven mountain strongholds neither.
Most of the cultures can be covered with what they have though and I really love CC3+.
Sutheimr has lots of wilderness to it though, so there is not as much detail in this portion of Kelleemah.
But, it makes for a great place to start on my map where I can experiment a lot.
Thanks
Not only does this map prove that you must have an immense amount of patience, it also shows the power cc3+
Good Job Sir!
CC3+ is a great platform with a reasonable learning curve.
It is also a lot of fun to experiment with.
For me it took about a weekend to get a lot of the basics down, which really translates into about 5 hours or so. This being someone who never worked with a CAD program before. But once that was established i found "experimenting" to be very rewarding as you've stated.
Can you find the 10 images inserted into the village?
If so, name them.
I started with a ice cliff symbol, then a glacier symbol over it to show the flowing ice, and then I used some artic symbols at the bottom.
Thanks qwalker!
Very creative! I'm thinking you should write a tutorial.
I am still exploring and learning things.
Several people has already helped a lot since I got on here.
Just having fun seeing what CC3+ can do.
I love seeing how I can combine symbols and bitmaps from different styles to create cool effects.
Next week: Helgrind - The Gates of Hell!
