CC3+ Symbol Catlogs Not Showing Bug

The CC3+ Symbol Catalog Settings are not showing "Available symbol catalogs".

When I click the Select catalog Setting Button you don't see any images showing the available symbol catalogs.

They are in the select box apparently but just are not visible for some reason.

The same thing happens in both Basic and Advanced and if you have show first symbol in catalog checked or unchecked.

I've attached an image of what is going on.

My older CC3 doesn't have this problem it is just occurring in CC3+.

Try switching to advanced and back to basic to see if they appear.

That doesn't fix it. The problem exists in both Basic and Advanced. Switching between them doesn't work at all.

Also, it makes no difference too if you have the Display first symbol in the catalog box checked or unchecked too.
  • Maybe try re-installing. The symbol catalog is showing for me.

I've replied by email to sort this out.

  • I'm having the same issue but when I click on the symbol style toggle in DD I get CD and in CD I get DD. When I just click on the symbols for DD I get a blank like the picture above and for CD I only get what appears to be the very old city symbols of CC2 Pro is what they look like.

I have / had the same issue since the beginning. Latest install is on Win 8.1 64Bit, but seems to be Independent as I had it on Win 7 as well.
Creeating a new e.g. Overland Map style in Sarah Wroot style is Setting the Catalog Setting filter to CC3* . Changing it back to Sarah*, will reset it to CC3 just after closing the window.
Opening the catalog Folder under the Options... Icon, you can select whatever catalog you want and it is displayed accordingly.
However any Change by clicking e.g. by clicking the Vegetation / Minerals/Mountains Icon will reset to the CC3 Setting. This is driving me nuts.

Any help appreciated. I think reinstallation won't help, as I already installed on several systems having the same issue, even reinstalled on the same machine.
Maybe I should add I have this issue with Version 3.43, not CC+.
  • I just upgraded to CC3+ today and am experiencing the same issue. I tried using advanced to Browse to the fsc files in ProgramData to add them manually and that did not work either. If anyone has found a solution to this issue I would really appreciate it.

  • Same issue here.... Not a mapping guru but when you advertise your software as the best in class and there are all these issues with it. You might want to stop with the self-hype. Just picked this up and after a day of screwing around trying to get DD3 to work in CC3+ I give up. I am less than an amateur so maybe I bit off more than I can chew, so hats off to those that get this working. Off to try some other software; that I can work with...

Hi Manchu8990, have you checked with us through tech support? I'm sure we can get this sorted out on your system.
  • @Ralf - I have sent in request to tech support, being a Sunday I realize they are out of the office. I have tried every suggestion I could find in these forums to get them to show, even the silly UAC work around. After three uninstall\installs with the same results nothing. I have CC3 working but not CC3+. The last time I was finally able to get DD3 symbols to show all the items in water, ground were green. I will see what Tech support has to say, before I completely throw in the towel.

I've sent you a reply with a check/suggestion this morning. It should be in your inbox.
  • I am up and running, thanks to Ralf ala Tech Support in correcting my Uff Da moment. For future Newbies, here is the suggestion;

    - start a new map by clicking the "New" button
    - choose map type "Dungeon", "decide settings myself", click Next
    - choose map style "DD3 Dungeon", click "Next"
    - Set the size of your map, click "Finished" and save the map (preferably somewhere under My Documents).

Once I was creating a map that used the "missing" symbols they were no longer missing. My error was just clicking on the menu icons at the top and then browsing the symbols. Hope this clears it up for others that follow.
