First finished map in CC3+

ClerconClercon Betatester Traveler
I've been testing CC3+ during the Beta and must say that I am very pleased with the program. One of the really great advantages in it compared with CC3 is that you actually can have all the effects enabled when you make your maps.
This is the first map I've done in the program, a generic world map. I'm also selling this one in my RPGNOW store on the net in high resolution (http://www.rpgnow.com/browse/pub/7319/Imaginary-maps).
Hope you like it.

  • Very nice map - clean, but giving a good sense of the country. I might try adding a couple of more rhumb lines extending from the compass rose, because only two of them go any appreciable distance. They look kind of lonely. Or just delete them.

Beautiful use of space. I like the trees in the river delta. And I really like the coastline and islands!

  • I like the map. Very nice! Just a quick question though. On the plains on the eastern side of the map there are some slightly darker areas which add a nice contrast. Is that part of an automatic fill or did you add additional sheets and use transparent effects?

    Thanks for the comments all.
Warhound - I added a new sheet for the fields. It is actually the same effect as it is on the sea, but tweaked a bit. Without it the field felt a bit flat.
  • So is cc3+ available yet? I don't see a link to download or purchase it anywhere.

Upgrade emails will be going out to existing customers over the next couple of days. We want to manage the website and server load.
  • Thanks, can't wait it looks very nice so far.
  • I just purchased it, the new style looks wonderful and CC3+ runs much smoother.
  • This is a lovely map; I can't wait to work with the new program. If I may ask, what is the pattern just outside the large walled city in the south. Is that to indicate agricultural fields?

@Barliman - Yes, that is the farmland terrain fill.

I particually like the mountain region to the west, and the subtle colour differences. Bravo! Looks so simple.

edit: How do you do the roads, the dotted lines?
