odd wall cutting experience

In redoing my Dwarf Home rooms and passageways, I found that some CD3 symbols cut and some don't. The scissors cut symbol doesn't always work.
So I did some testing. This is with Smart Tracking on.
If the door, etc. symbol changes direction to match the wall, it will cut.
If the door doesn't move, wiggle, when I approach a wall with it, no cutting occurs.
I made the corridors with no end wall. I used the DD3 floor tool to make the rooms.
I also noticed that where some corridor and rooms meet, I can cut, some I cannot; however, I can cut the corridor wall not next to the room.
Is there a way to cut door openings ? I tried Break, but it took the room walls out, not the doorway wall. I'm probably doing something wrong there.
Any suggestions ?
I've attached the map fcw file.

I've run into this issue many times (so many times... so many times...). There tend to be two main reasons I'm unable to cut the walls.
- I'm trying to cut a wall on the same side as a start- and endpoint for the wall. That is, if I begin the wall somewhere on the north side of a room, place all my points for the wall, and then close the wall on the north side of the room, then I can't seem to cut a door onto the north side, even if I'm not trying to cut at the start/end point.
- The wall I'm trying to cut isn't on the WALLS layer. Possibly if it isn't on the WALLS sheet, but I think it's layer-related.
It might just be me, but those seem to be the main culprits on my machine. There may be other reasons, which spin me off into Lovecraftian madness but, if so, I don't know what they are.Try checking that the walls are all on the WALLS layer first. To my dismay, I've learned that not all wall tools automatically place walls on the right layer. I've gotten so lazy since drawing tools started doing that for me.
Anyway, I hope that helps,
