How to find a contour layer to edit

I apologise in advance for the question, but

I have drawn a number of contour outlines and want to change just one of them. I can't seem to be able to select the one I want. Possibly I have drawn it on the wrong layer. In other graphic software it's possible to see each item that has been drawn and select it in the layer and then edit the object. Can this be done in CC3 and, if not, how can I select a specific object on a drawing, especially if I am not sure of which layer it has been drawn on?

You can use the LIST command (Info > List) to show which layer and sheet an object is on. Alternatively you can use KEEP on the object to set all current properties (among them the layer) to match that object.
