cannot delete things

Hi,

I am fairly new to CC3 and struggling, and finding the help files a bit hard to follow.

I have one main issue.

Certain things will simply not be deleted. Typically they are text and various symbols. I do know how to use the delete function and have deleted other stuff successfully with 'delete - right click - do it'. But some things just get totally stuck. Even when I hide every other layer and can only see that type of symbol, they still get stuck. Is it possible they are 'locked' in some way I do not understand? I click in all sorts of ways and they just will not be selected for deletion. Even with the left click method under tools / options, they still won't budge although other stuff nearby gets deleted.

Any help?

    Be sure you click the edge of objects and the baseline of text to select it. If that's not it, please post an FCW file with such a problem entity here.

    OK, still really struggling with this.

    It seems to work fine up to a point and then something changes and from then on I can only delete certain things.

    I was working on this map today and it went OK until something went weird and now the only things I can delete and the names 'Lower Swell' and 'Middle Swell,' and a fish symbol in a lake.

    Memory issues? Some setting to lock or freeze all components in a map so they cannot be deleted, that I am inadvertently activating? I really do not know what I am doing to make it do this.

    Eesh.

    As soon as I posted this I noticed the 'layer' dialog under tools / properties and realised they had somehow all been frozen.

    Is there some way I might be accidentally freezing all the layers on my maps? I don't know how it is done.

    I've clicked on Freeze All when I meant to click on Show All in the layer dialog.

    That can't be it because I never knew the layers dialog was there until just recently. I've never had it open before.

    Anyway I think I have solved the problem. If it happens again I know how to fix it.
