Send Behind Not Working

The "Send Behind" command allows me to select the entity I want to move items behind, but drops the ball on the second part of the command and won't allow me to select the items to move. Why?

Are the entities on the same sheet? I'm not certain, but I think the Send Behind/Above commands only work with entities on the same sheet. For entities on different sheets, you might have to move one of them to a lower (or higher) sheet. But that's just a guess. Someone Smarter™ can confirm or correct my guess.

Dogtag is correct that entities can only be moved in relation to items on the same sheet.

However, as you write, if you are actually unable to select the items to move, that might have other causes. Make sure the objects you are trying to move are not located on a frozen layer, and that you select them by clicking on the actual border of the entity, or baseline if you are selecting text.
  • The symbols are all on the same sheet, same layer, are visible and not frozen. I've also downloaded and installed the latest version: 6.20.0 7/7/10. I used this command just fine in CC2 and know the drill. Any other suggestions? :D
  • Okay I looked at my own screen shot and noticed the weird fill style on the tree symbol, so I wondered if the fill style matters and it does. The fill style apparently also needs to be the same. I changed the fill style on all symbols to "Solid" and now the command works.

I did not know that. Thanks for sharing your solution!

The fill style should have nothing at all to do with the Send Behind command. If you have a copy of the map in the state where it didn't work, I'd be curious to see it.
