WWII Atlas Not Working In CC2

I needed to do a WWII map and went to use CC2 to do the map in using the WWII Atlas tools, templates, etc and was was planning to convert it from a CC2 map to a CC3 one after I made it in CC2. CC2 keeps telling me the Atlas isn't installed when I click the button for it.

I re-downloaded the WWII Atlas last night and reran the installer to make sue it was in CC2 but that didn't fix the problem.

Any ideas on what I can do?

The CC2 version is the one that was made as a download so CC3 uses could have CC2 to create Atlas stuff.

Also, does a file list exist of what files exactly the Atlas instals into CC2? I want to check to make sure that everything is getting installed.

    I installed them separately.

In C:\WW2IA\Maps\ are the maps on my computer.

Just copy and paste that Maps folder into the CC2 folder.

It isn't the maps it is the tools the specific drawing tools, tool bar icons, etc.

When you click the WWII icon in CC2 it is supposed to pull up specific drawing tools & icons for them in your tool area. It just says the atlas isn't installed when you click icon.

The Tome of Ultimate mapping says to reinstall the Atlas and to make sure the CC2 stuff goes into CC2. If it give you that message.

I'm trying to figure out what is wrong.

I do know it did install some new templates and symbols into CC2. The Interactive Atlas is in C:\WW2IA\ but it also installs stuff into C:\CC2 when you run the installer and it asks if you want to install the CC2 specific enhancements it has along with the Atlas.

I get the same error message. 'Do you want to install it now'.

When I looked under the Draw menu at the top of CC2, and selected Custom Drawing tools, I was showed a number of drawnig tools.

Are those the ones you are looking for ?

Found them. Look under that menu setting.

    Select Advanced.

Scroll down and you will see lots of WW II mapping tools.

Thanks Jim I can get access to the draw styles

It is supposed to be showing custom icons for the symbol sets, the draw tools, and pull up the WWII templates if you click new instead of that error message.

Maybe Ralf or some one can give it a fix an list exactly what files the installer was supposed to install into CC2 so I can make sure the files are installed.

I saw a folder of templates and symbols were installed not sure what else it installs.

Did you run CC2 before installing the atlas. If I remember correctly, the atlas picks up the path of the last CC product you ran, so if CC3 was the last one you ran before installing the atlas, it will pick up the CC3 directory instead of the CC2 directory.
I used to have a working setup with CC3, CC2 and the atlas, but it have been some time now, so I am a bit rusty on the particulars.

Do you have the 2011 annual by the way? The september 2011 issue lets you do WWII IA style maps in CC3.

Yes I did run CC2 before running the installer. I have the 2011 annual too

I did manage to get it to work late last night.

I got the CC2 Updater from my old Cosmographer disk and ran it and it optimized CC2 so the buttons would work. I noticed after doing that I had a couple of files of draw tools that I didn't have before in CC2.

I know the Atlas doesn't work in CC3, but I did discover I could move the templates, new symbols, & draw tools into CC3 and access them and use CC3 instead of CC2.
