Here is a map of a village I've made. I used it for a game on New year's eve that I played with my children and their friends. It is done in CD3 with some effects added in Photoshop. Hope you like it
Beautiful! I love the way you do the forests in these types of maps. Farmland too, but I really dig the forests. I especially like the trees (or clumps of trees) along the south of the road in this map. It just looks so natural.
Do you use symbols for the homes, or do you use the HOUSE command/tools? I see three buildings that look like they might be symbols but the homes are so varied in size It makes it difficult to tell.
Is the round building a temple? A tower? Your kids get the best maps for their games!
Thanks Dogtag. The three bulidings that stick out a bit are symbols, all the other houses are made with the house/street command/generator. And the round building is indeed a temple where some nice monks lived.
Of course we like it. Just looking at the map, you want to be there... It might be me but depending how you look at it, the open area looks over the forest one...
Thanks for the comments they are really appreciated. And I think the compass rose is included in the style I made for Profantasy in the December issue of the 2012 annuals.
Both colours on the field are from CC3 and you can do the same effect in CC3. But to do it in Photoshop is much quicker. The main Photoshoping thing in the maps is changing the light and colour.
