Fractal Terrains Equivalent to Wilbur's Span Filter (Altitude Range within Selection)

Hi. I'm a noob looking for the ability to establish the high and low points of an area with the elevations remapped between those parameters (specifically for a selection). In Wilbur, I have been able to to do this with Filter > Mathematical > Span. I am wondering how one would do this with Fractal Terrains. Thank you in advance.

The closest you'll likely get in FT is to use Select>>Altitude Range to select your low and high areas, then reduce the roughness to smooth the area and increase the offset to bring the lower altitude up to your desired minimum. The exact values for roughness and offset will probably take some trial and error because the exact min and max will vary in between editing samples (it's the same problem as when you try to flatten an area in FT). If FT had some way to show the min/max of a selection, then things would be easier, but it doesn't.
