Numbers in hexes

ClerconClercon Betatester Traveler
I have a small question. At the moment I'm working on a map using the July 2010 hex map annual style. When you start the map you get the choice of adding numbers to your hexes. Does anyone here know if it is possible to add those numbers later on, when you already have started on the map? Or do I have to start from the beginning again and this time select the numbers from start?
I'll appreciate all help in this matter.
Cheers
Pär

You will need to delete the existing hex grid, and simply create a new one (Draw -> Hex or Square overlay). Make sure that the new grid you add have the same size and orientation settings as the original grid.

I'm messing with this silly program again and it is easier but it's still a big PITA. How do I restart numbering? I've looked at the help and it's not doing what I think it should do (nothing new in that).

And on a non-related note... I'm not the greatest at this technology and web stuff but I'm trying the best I can w/ a business and keeping my hands in the hobby. I have CC3 installed but I don't have full capabilities because I can't figure out what goes where. I have TeamViewer and I'd really like to get this all running right. I have lots of modules that aren't even installed yet 'cause I'm too busy dinkin' around with other things. I would really appreciate some remote help with getting this monster integrated on my machine. 'm not rich and I really have nothing to steal so...

I assume you are talking about the number labels feature here? If so, after clicking the button, but before trying to place anything, look at the command line. It should say "Number" followed by a number in square brackets. That number is the current starting value. If you don't like it, and wish to restart from 1, simply hit 1 and press enter. The numbering will now start from the value provided, 1 in this case.

As for helping by remote, sorry I won't be able to do that, but maybe someone else in here will.
  • Thanks Monson. My fiance is getting tired of me fiddling with this stuff and justifiably. I guess I was missing the "enter" keystroke. I placed a "1" in the command line but guess I missed that in the Help. I have a real problem learning anything from pdfs or video tutorials. real old school and prefer my stuff printed out but AFAIK, CC3 doesn't have a user manual like CC2. I've been away so long, I don't even know if there are pdfs that can be printed out.

And if there is someone in the company that can set me up, it's a shame to let this great software from going to waste.

A manual comes with your installation. It is in the Documentation subfolder in your CC3 directory, and it is laid out in a format appropriate for printing, An updated version of the manual is also available for download from your Registration Page
