Traveller sector import not working.

I'm getting an error trying to use the traveller sector import. It's giving the error "the sector data could not be downloaded" whenever I try to run it. This is a recent development. I've used it in the past with no issues.

To be sure its not on my end I disabled my firewall and virus scanner and made an attempt at import again with the same results. I've uploaded a screenshot.

It seems the problem may be with the travellermap.com website. I know this is not a profantasy website so its not really profantasy's issue.

However I'm going to take this time to ask, is any way profantasy can change its sector import to use locally stored data instead of downloaded data from a third party website? Perhaps data exported from Heaven and Earth for example?

You may wish to contact ProFantasy Tech support directly, they might have a workaround. I know Mark was talking about a new version earlier this year, but I don't know exactly which features it contains.

I was experimenting with Cosmographer3 this week and encountered the same problem. Is it possible that the Traveler database changed it's HTML address or something simple like that?

Sure, seems to be working for me. Neat feature if I ever get around to that GURPS Traveller game I've been planning.

You are welcome to use my Travller maps if you want to. Goes for anyone else as well.

On a side note I still think it would be great to be able to import from "Heaven and Earth" considering it can generate random sectors.
Or code a random sector generator for CC3.

Importing Heaven and Earth data might well be possible. If you are able to email mark@profantasy.com with sample export data I will see what we can do.

I just checked out the Traveller Maps site. They changed the file format. That is not necessarily bad. What is bad is that they added the new columns in the middle of a fixed width format structure. If they would have added the new columns to the end, it would not have messed everything up.
