Having Inserted Map Issues

I've inserted a map I want to use as a base from somewhere else but I'm having several problems, one being that the scale(mile) bar I put in the bottom right corner while I was in the New Drawing Wizard doesn't have the right miles marked on it for the size the inserted file turned out being, is there a way to rescale/put a new one in? Second problem, I couldn't scale the map border right and ended up deleting it instead, is there a way to make a new one?

For the scale bar, click the "internal symbols" button above the catalog windows (the little green icon below the "Options" button). You should see the Scale Bar symbol there. Click it to place it on the map. If you place it at scale 1.0, it will be 100 miles. Multiply the miles value you put in by your symbol scale (right-click during symbol placement to see or change your current scale).

I'm sorry I'm still not used to using this program, I'm not seeing the "internal symbols" or the "Options" buttons.

They are the buttons located immediately above your symbol catalog. There are Three buttons there, one large labeled "options", then below it you'll find the symbols in map and open symbol catalog buttons (the latter two represented by icons)
