How to import a bit-map
I have seen and read in several of the forums that one of the easiest ways to redraw a large map into a smaller map is to create a sheet (say, BMP) and import a BMP file onto this sheet. then just trace the part of the map you are attempting to map a smaller map of.
Ok, this sounds easy enough except I cannot find any way to 'import' a BMP file.
Under the symbols pull down menu I see 'Import PNG' but this is not a BMP and when I attempt it I get nothing (literally). I have the ultimate mappers guide, so if it is in there, you can point me to the correct page. I have attempted to use the 'tome of ultimate mapping' to make smaller maps (as per page 42), but it seems to take ALOT of processing power or something is it freezes my computer pretty good.
So my question is, how do I import a bmp to copy from.

But I would recommend to save the image as a PNG file instead - they are smaller in size and CC3's preferred bitmap image format (note both PNG and BMP are bitmap formats). You can do so through any free bitmap editor out there (I recommend Paint.NET for an excellent free editor).
Thanks
