ProFantasy Map Library - Using maps in Realm Works

I was wondering about the map library. I'm assuming the maps are free to download and use, but what about altering them? Is that ok? Also, can they be used in Realm Works, a soon to be released campaign management software.

  • I've used several maps or symbol catalogs from the download area and made changes or added stuff to them. It's actually a great way to learn how other folks put stuff together. I personally wouldn't use anything from the download area commercially, unless I'd made so many changes that it was unrecognizable from the original. I'm familiar with Realm Works. As far as I know, maps are embedded in the usual graphical formats so, yeah you could export from CC3 and have the map in RW. Again, as far as I know, I don't think you can put an .FCW file directly into RW though, but then you wouldn't want to for the same reason you wouldn't embed a Word file. :)

  • I've got a big campaign I want to run in Realm works. But before I do that, because there is a lot of prep involved, I do want to run other games in RW. Using downloaded maps would be a shortcut as I'm not that familiar with CC yet.

I have around two thousand maps on my Crestar site, free to download and use in anyone's campaign.
