Making a globe with Fractal Terrains3

Hi,
I have made a world with Fractal Terrains. Now I want to make a globe. For this I need a map like that http://www.geodus.com/globe-map/tresgrand/chicago-1887-map.jpg
Is there any possibility to do that with Fractal Terrains?

In map projections, there should be something with the word "gores" in it. That one should generally do what you want.

I have an "18-way Stereographic Gores" projection that has 18 blocks instead of the 12 that are shown in your example image. It's definitely possible to do an 12-way one with a little editing of the relevant part of the Projections.txt file in your FT install directory.
  • I had to reinstall Fractal Terrains, because for some reason this projection wasn't in the list of projections. After reinstalling I can use the projection. Thanks for helping me.
  • Ok when you click the Map Projection button from the TOP of the list box down you should see:

18-Way sterographic Goes (18 cut up slices like the map you linked)

    6 - Way Interrupted Sinusoidal

Both of these will produce what you are after.
