Enabling Random Symbols

Within the symbol catalogs, some collections allow for randomization (with the little "R" symbol in the corner), and some don't. Why is that?

When i'm placing buildings using the Moon Dwellings symbol catalog, why can't I have it randomize them the way i can randomize Trees in the Default symbol catalog?

Thanks,
Stephen

Making symbols randomize is done through the Symbol Options. TO do that to the Moon Dwellings do the following:

    - open CC3, go to File > Open and choose File Type FSC symbol catalog.
    - open /Symbols/Cities/Filled/Moon Dwellings.FSC
    - open the Symbol Manager
    - select the first twenty Symbols
    - click Options
    - You'll see that these symbols already form a collection. You just need to activate the "Randomly select from collection" option
    - Close the symbol manager, save the catalog and close CC3.

Your moon dwellings will now randomize when you add them to a map. Note that if you already placed them in a previous maps it will not work right away, as the definitions without the random option are already in that map. You'll need to either delete them from the map from the symbol manager and re-add the symbols, or do the same procedure as above to the symbols already in the map.

    Hope that helps.
