with the talk of going to CC+, my question is when will the Perspectives upgrade be released? i am very eager to get my hands on it. the examples look amazing.

My guess is: sometime this year, but not that soon...
Based on the following blog entry (the latest one where development "roadmap" is mentioned), CA v3 will be released before Perspectives.

As you mention there's also CC3+; however no information was provided as to where it fits in the roadmap (before CA v3? after all add-ons have been upgraded to v3?)...

CA3 will be released before CC3+. More on this in the newsletter in the next couple of months.
