convert jpg/png to kml/kmz map format ?

Irfanview doesn't do it.

I was trying to locate a 'free jpg/png to kml/kmz map converter'.

Anyone know of one ?

Are you sure that is actually possible? I am no expert on the Google maps system, but as far as I understand kml/kmz are data files (With map data, such as coordinates and stuff) (in xml format), which can reference images, but they are not images themselves, rather they reference external images, like your .jpg files.

Urf, google maps said 'import'. I got the impression it meant graphics format. I'll just stick with the method I came up with of marking the map, and using a poll for viewers to decide.
