Glow-Effekt makes text unreadable

I drew a map using the Annual-Style CA20 and activated the glow effect on the textsheet to make it stand out on
the map.
The weird thing is that my text looks distorted now if there is anything in the background
Any idea how that happens?

It might just be your the way it is displayed on the screen. I sorta had the same issue with my map Broderick's Hoard, but when I exported it and opening it in Photoshop, it was very clear. I printed on my large format printer today and the text looks great. Zoom in a little and see if it looks any different.

Thanks for the hint, but unfortunately it is rendered into the bitmap like that. Even if i export it in a very high resolution to bmp
I also get this mess when i open it in GIMP or print it.

Sorry. I do not know enough about the mechanics of the program to assist further. The only other thing I can think of is an Inner Glow. Are you sure there is not one of them attached to the text?

I had a similar problem a while back. Here is Ralf's suggested workaround.

You know in reading Ralf's comments it might be just as easy to create a second text sheet with NO effects and put good text right on top of the text you have in the sheet below.

In Rattokan's case I believe you can circumvent that by changing the text's color to 240 which is almost black, but not black.
