Mapping style I'd love to see

It also did not impressed me. In CC3 we already have "simple" styles of a lot of fashions. I did not see what tihs one have in special. But hyt , it is only my taste.

I'd love to see a style based on the old Magnamund maps. The one Crymson links to isn't one of the original ones, the original ones are far better looking. Here is an example.

Though I like the bright colors of the map I am not too impressed with the style.

Not to highjack the post, but i'd actually like to see more issues of the annual that provide us with new tools, tips and objects...Don't get me wrong, the styles they provide are great (and this one would be no different), but in general, I don't buy them for the styles (course, I might be an outlier...but that's my two cents).

Actually, this theme is very similar to CC or CC2 style. It´s not a bad one, maybe simply a bit outdated. It would be a good one at 1998 or so...

It's a bit of a nostalgic style. The original map that Clercon linked to was drawn in 1984 for the Lone Wolf gamebooks. That's why I'd like to see it

I like the style, because I have a soft spot for simply vector styles. But I agree that it's a bit outdated. I do have fond memories of the first Lone Wolf books and of that map Clercon linked.

I think nostalgia has a big influence on my opinion of this style

Kudos to Bill Roach to that one ... it's his East Anglia font and available from the Profantasy user library.

I like the colors on this new style but I really dislike the icons used for mountains and hills.
The font on the other hand looks awesome.

I really like this style (and it's sibling). It has a rich hand-drawn feel to it. I can totally see a map in this style painted in fresco on a castle wall or some such. Actually, that sparks an idea in my mind...

Also I dig the border. Is that part of the style or is that a custom border (and a huzzah for the Annual issue on borders!)

@dogtag - The border is a part of the Annual. I'm glad you're saying that you think it has a hand-drawn feel to it, that was what I was trying to pursue with the style. The goal wast to make it look like you didn't do it in CC3 but by hand.

Think this is a fine style for "hand drawn" maps.
Nice to give to players as a regional map so they can decide where they want to go next.

Knowing my players, problalbly some place that isn't on the map.

Here is another example of the style for you. I made it while testing the style, to see that everything worked as supposed. This one took me around an hour to complete from scratch. No labeling though.
