Tome of Ultimate Mapping

I keep looking at this product trying to decide if I should buy it or not but just cannot make up my mind. I worry that since it says it is for CC2 Pro, that I will not get as much out of it for CC3 and some of the other add-ons that I really have questions about. If you have it, could you give me your take on it and if it helps you with CC3? Also, what type of mapping sources does it come with? Symbols, Styles, or bitmap fills, all three or something I don't even know about yet?

I dont have it so I dont know how good it is for cc3, but I do know that they are working on a updated one, for cc3. Dont know when it is due for release, but maybe Ralf can enlighten us on that.

If you buy the tome now, you get a free update to the CC3 version when it is released (See this blog post).

The tome itself is most tutorials, aimed at teaching you to get the most out of your experience with CC2/CC3 and it's add-ons (+ FT). There is some extra materials, but not not that much really, the tome is more about teaching you stuff rather than provide "ready to use" styles.

I myself find the current version of the tome still useful when it comes to CC3, but obviously, it doesn't address the new CC3 features, such as sheet effects and raster artwork, nor the updated features of the v3 versions of the add-ons. The new version of the tome will obviously address all of this.

I am currently working on writing the final sections of the updated tome, so the updated version won't be too far into the future.

I'm glad to hear it is being updated. I had decided against buying the CC2 version, as it was so old. I will certainly get the new one when it comes out.

The CC2 tome still covers many basic mapping pieces of information. I still use mine for CC3.
