Making a map larger
Hello everyone, I've just started using the software to develop the world for a Role Play site I help to run and I'm loving it.
I started a small map to get used to the program, and I rather like the way it has turned out. However. since it was only a 'mess about' I made the image rather small.
Is there anyway to enlarge it, without having to redraw the whole map?
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I did have a quick look here and in the manual but I couldn't find anything.

- One way is to just erase all the entities on the MAP BORDER layer, then draw new ones further out. You see, CC3 maps are always close to infinite in size, no matter your initial settings. However, drawing tools are set to stop at the MAP BORDER, which keeps them confined to your current border. By erasing the border, you can continue to draw outside the current area.
- Another way is to simply copy the entities from your current map to a new map. This is done as follows: Start a second instance of CC3, and create a new map of our new desired size, in the other CC3 instance, load up your current map. In your current map, hide the MAP BORDER and SEA sheets, then go to Edit -> Copy. Now the command line asks you to select entities. Simply hit the A key on your keyboard to select all entities (This is why we hid those two sheets, we don't want to copy the contents of those over), then D (for Do It). Now, the command line asks for the origin of the map. Assuming you want your current map to be in roughly the center of the enlarged map, just click somewhere in the middle of the map. Now, the entities are on the clipboard. In the other instance of CC3, simply go to Edit -> Paste. You should now have a copy of your map at the cursor, so simply position it where you like and click to place it. Save the new map.
Once you have done either of these, remember that you can now edit the shape of your existing landmass by starting the drawing tool again, then hitting E (Watch the command line) to edit an existing entity. This is also detailed in the manual.
Will the copied items remain the same size? I am looking to make the map bigger, rather than expand it to include more. If that makes sense.
The simplest way to change the scale is to right click on the scale button, and select non-visual scale. The hit A to select everything in the map, followed by D for do it. The command line now asks for the scale factor. A factor of 2 doubles the scale of everything. Just type the number you need into the command line, then press enter. It now asks for scale center. I like to keep the bottom left of the map at the origin, so I just type in 0,0 then hit enter at this prompt.
To find the proper value for the scale factor, you need to know how large your map should be. Your current map is 200 miles wide, so if you wish your new measurement to be 400 miles, use a scale factor of 2. A factor of 2.5 will give a map 500 miles wide, and so on.
Thank you very much for the help.
Happy Mapping...
