Strange memory (i think) issues

Just purchased CC3

I am having issues with a suspected memory problem.

I am running through the fist video tutorial and when I activate the sheet effects, the program slows to a crawl when i try to zoom. It takes 3 sec to zoom one mouse click.

it is making the software very clunky.

I have tried to add more ram to the bitmap memory cache but it does not seem to help in the least.

I have a brand new pc, here are the specs

Processor Intel Core i5-2500K
16 gigs of ram
and it is installed on a SSD harddrive

I am sure that this is just some sort of setting making the program act this way

like it it is it clunky and difficult to use

As soon as you activate the sheet effect that will happen. The sheet effects is something you activate only when it's time to save the picture you have done to jpg or other format. When you work on the map you're not supposed to have it on. The reason for the slow behaviour is that the program has to rerender the map everytime you change the map, when sheet effects are on, and that takes some power.
  • Hi nestor,

if the map is complicated, and you have many effects turned on, 3 seconds are a not that bad performance ;-). But as Clercon says, you are supposed to work withouth the effects.
The main problem could be the fact that CC3 is a 32bit software (there are one or two recent discussions in the forum about this) and can by consequence only address 2Gb of RAM. In practice, it0s NOT taking advantage of your big amount of ram and working with a fraction of it.

    Best regards,
