Map scaling and templates - how to define a new map size?
JimP asked me to start a new discussion for this so it's easier to find/answer.
Can I get a little advice, please?
I want to create a city local map that is 24000 feet by 14000 feet (large for a dungeon, small for overland). What size should I set in the template? And, I suppose, which template best suits this size? The map will show the main town features and the surrounding area.
Jim said to use CD3 and the template wizard. Do I simply define the map size as 24000 and 14000 then? Is it that simple? (It's going to be interesting working out what scaling to apply to the symbols. Pen and paper, please!)

Also, there is no need to figure out the symbol size. Just use the default symbol scale at 1.0 (see File > Drawing Properties) and your city symbols will be the correct size. That's the beauty of using the real-world scale for the map.
But hey, I did get some sleep this afternoon when the dentist was removing parts of two teeth and installing 2 temporary crowns. Nope, no anesthesia. I was tired. My own snoring woke me up, not the sound of the drill.
