Square fill line not solid

Hi all

I wonder if you can help me.

I want to fill a multi poly with a 5' square fill, but instead of getting solid lines I get dashed lines. I've made the square fill by using a 10' fill and adapting the settings to 5', 5', and scale to .5. The size is right but the image below shows you what I am getting instead of solid lines. See below this is a 25 x 50 map with the grid set to 5', but as you can see I don't get solid lines.



The thing is I haven't selected square lines, so I am not sure why this is doing this?

My second question is a little easier. I thought I'd scaled my map correctly but when I go to print it as scaled 1"=5' I instead get a fraction like 0.89 = 4.345 etc. Those aren't the exact numbers but I get its approximation, which suggests my scale isn't quite right, even though I thought I had done a non visual scale and got it right?

Can anyone help.

The only way I have been able to get the old solid line square fill style in CC3 has been to initially select one of the older vector templates (CC2 Pro Standard Overland I believe) when first creating my map in CC3.

I tried opening another template, making the fill style I wanted and copying into the current drawing. When in the original it was fine, when I ported it in, it reverted to the above style? So annoying.

Yeah, I remember that now - if you try to insert it in a CC3 template, it doesn't stick (I think because it has the same naming convention for the two different symbols it uses for the grid or something). Annoying. Maybe Ralf or someone could talk us through re-creating it with a different name in a CC3/DD3 template?

I'd really appreciate it as its really holding up my getting the map finished at present.

You'll need to edit the "Square Fill" symbol included in the template.

Open the Symbol Manager and click the "Show fill style symbols" option. Locate the symbol "Square fill" and edit it. Use "Change Line Style" to turn the lines to "Solid". That's all. You can do the same to the hex fill symbol, if you want.

Thanks for that Ralf caused me a problem until I realised I had the layers frozen, but then I got it ok.
