Import Problems
Hi there.
I've tried importing some symbols into CC3, but the background is turning out white rather than transparent. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Ok - that just about does it buddy, this oughta fix'ya up. CC3 doesn't do it for you because the process is too subjective, and many different types of images use either a white on black / or black on white alpha channel (don't worry about that stuff now - just do what I told you to do), chow and good luck comrade.
GIMP is awesome software, but let's try the path of least resistance first before you have to go learning a new program to import some existing PNG files as symbols.
Here's the steps you need to know to import PNGs into CC3 as a symbol catalog from CC3 Online Help:
1. Creating and importing PNGs and Bitmaps as Symbols
2. Import PNG Symbols
What you need to do is look carefully is the Bitmap Options button when you follow the steps in 1. above (but review 2. Import PNG Symbols above as well). When you click it, it will give you four options - Opaque, Alpha Transparency, Transparent Upper-Left Corner, and Transparent RGB Color. Select Alpha Transparency for your import and see if that fixes your problem. If not, try another import and select Transparent RGB color and set the values to 255,255,255 (white) and see if that does the trick.
I hope this helps.

AND - Some of the tutorials I pointing you toward requires MINIMAL experience - if ANY. Trust me.
