Filling a space

Is there a short cut method of filling a space with symbols? I have found an overhead tree symbol I like and want to use it to make a complete forest on a village map. Is there a way to do this other than placing each of the trees?

Yes, there is the "Fill wtih Symbols" command on the Draw menu. See the command's help file entry and the accompanying 'Creating "Fill with Symbols" settings' entry for details.
