Please Recommend Software

I am completely new to mapping software. While researching, I was pleased to come across ProFantasy!

I want to make detailed maps of towns and cities of my home area. Therefore, I will only require school bldgs, houses, shopping centers, parks etc.

I narrowed down the necessary software to:

CC3
Source Map: Cities
City Designer 3
Symbol Set - Modern

I know I need CC3, but is it unnecessary to purchase the 3 additional add-ons for what I'm looking to create? Which ones do you recommend?

You should be fine with CC3 and City Designer 3, but it depends on what style of city maps you're after. If you want to draw modern-style street maps, I recommend either the 2007 or the 2011 annual for these issues:
