Problem with deleting text

I have recently got into Campaign Cartopgrapher 3 and I am trying to delete a bit of text. I try to use the erase tool but I can't get rid of it. It only deletes things close to it. Which I need.

Any help would be great, thanks!

You can try hiding all sheets except for the text one, text has to be clicked on at the bottom of the text in order to be selected properly. First click on the sheets and effects button, on the left side of the main window, then make sure you have the text sheet chosen. You do this by placing a small check in the box next to it, there are two boxes, the one you want is on the left. Next click the hide all button and then click ok. Everything but the text sheet will be hidden now, just click the text you want to erase, right click and choose do it.
