Battlemap sizes?

Very new to this program and to the DMing world so i figured i'd start big. I am curious what size i make battlemaps to print out on a piece of paper though? just average sized printer paper. Also is it worth printing these maps on photopaper? How well do they look when printed and such, thank you!

If you want to print your battle-map at the usualy resolution of 5 feet to the inch, you'll fit a map of 55' by 40' on a piece of A4 paper. Yes, that's fairly small, but you can tile across several pages of paper, if you want to create larger maps.
